Job Summary
Lead a Commissioning team and execute services projects while developing business development strategies to expand the client base. Manage HVAC sequence of operations, design review, and field testing of chilled water and DX systems including chillers, boilers, and VAVs. Review air and water test and balance reports, create installation and testing documents, and visit client facilities to gather data. Manipulate and test HVAC controls systems such as JCI and Trane, while ensuring OSHA safety compliance and adherence to building codes. Work flexible hours, travel 50% of the time, and communicate effectively with clients and construction trades.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and commissioning - building systems
- Proven commissioning experience
- Strong leadership and business development capabilities
- HVAC sequence of operation knowledge
- Knowledge of manipulating, adjusting, setup and testing HVAC controls systems such as JCI, Trane, Automated Logic, Siemens, etc.
- Knowledge in multiple control systems
- Complete working knowledge of HVAC chilled water and DX systems including design, operation and testing of: Chillers, Boilers, Cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHU, RTU, ERU, VAVs, exhaust, FCU, etc.
- Ability to review air and water test and balance process
- Ability to review a TAB report and identify issues
- Ability to visit client facilities and gather necessary data to test systems
- Ability to create system installation and testing documents
- Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and ability to identify deficiencies
- Familiarity with building codes and ability to make intuitive decisions related to such
- Ability to read and understand building plans and specifications
- Ability to work safely around electrical systems up to 600 volts
- Ability to effectively communicate with all clients, construction trades, and design professionals

Desired Qualifications
- Commissioning process certification preferred or willingness to acquire within the first 6 months
- Business development experience a plus
- Professional Engineering License a plus or ability to acquire
