Job Summary
Deputy Court Clerk responsible for a variety of administrative, customer service, and clerical tasks in the Municipal Court. Duties include processing documents and payments, updating secure databases, reviewing cases for court-ordered requirements, maintaining confidentiality of records, and providing courteous service to the public while supporting court operations. Requires high school diploma or GED, 1 year of clerical/customer service experience, a Texas driver’s license, and Level I Court Clerk certification within two years of hire. Work is performed in a standard office and municipal court environment with occasional travel for trainings; some weekend/early evening work possible.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of clerical, customer service, cashiering, and computer experience
- Knowledge of principles of bookkeeping, record keeping, and confidential records management
- Skill in entering data into a computer system with skill and accuracy and maintaining electronic records and files
- Providing effective customer service and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public
- Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
- A valid Texas State Driver's License is required
- Level I Court Clerk certification required within two years of hire
