Job Summary
Deputy City Solicitor in the Civil Rights Unit responsible for high-volume civil rights litigation, from inception through disposition, including jury trials; requires 5+ years of civil litigation experience, knowledge of 42 U.S.C. §1983, Monell, and PA Tort Claims Act; must hold a law degree from an ABA-accredited school and be a member (or eligible for reciprocity) of the PA Bar; position is fully onsite in Philadelphia with five days per week presence; salary range $94,465 to $113,614.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar or eligibility for reciprocity to practice in Pennsylvania (Pa.B.A.R. 204)
- Minimum five (5) years of legal experience relevant to civil rights and/or litigation
- Experience handling federal and state court litigation; ability to supervise legal staff; strong writing, research, and advocacy skills
