Job Summary
Deputy Chief Technology Officer leading infrastructure, networking, and security engineering with accountability for cloud environments, hybrid connectivity, security controls, incident response, and compliance. Defines standards and architectural patterns, oversees capacity planning, and drives automation (Terraform) across multi-account environments. Represents the CTO in executive discussions and client engagements while guiding cross-functional teams in achieving reliability, security, and cost efficiency. Requires 10+ years in technology leadership with at least 7 years managing large-scale cloud infrastructure and networking, plus strong AWS/networking and security expertise. Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred). On-site Phoenix presence required three days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership
- At least 7 years managing large-scale cloud infrastructure and networking environments
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and operating complex distributed cloud architectures and hybrid connectivity
- Proven track record in leading security engineering initiatives and managing incident response
- Technical expertise in cloud platforms and networking (AWS), edge security, encryption, certificate management
- Automation/tools experience (Terraform), CI/CD, observability, and SIEM/SOAR tools
- Strong executive communication skills and ability to engage with customers/auditors
- Master’s degree preferred (not required) and relevant certifications strongly preferred: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCNP (or equivalent), AWS specialty certifications
