Job Summary
Deputy Assistant Inspector General Audits (DAIGA) leads and supports the Office of Audits by assisting the AIGA in managing all audit activities for Amtrak, guiding complex performance, financial, and IT audits, and ensuring adherence to the Inspector General Act and applicable standards. The role involves overseeing the preparation of high-quality written reports, briefing senior leaders, coordinating staff development and performance management, directing budget and staffing plans, overseeing recruitment and onboarding, and maintaining policies and procedures to uphold audit quality. The position requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, development of annual audit plans, and leadership to staff across multiple offices. The role is based in DC, Chicago, or Philadelphia with onsite work arrangement and up to 25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent
- 10+ years of progressive experience leading audits in an audit organization or major audit unit
- Thorough understanding of the Inspector General Act of 1978 (as amended) and other applicable laws and regulations
- Proficiency in GAAS, GAAP, and related Federal audit procedures and practices
- Experience directing and conducting performance audits/analyses of major programs and operations
- Experience managing, supervising, and rating multiple employees
- Experience working in a Federal or quasi-Federal OIG environment
- Experience with TeamMate and other auditing software; Microsoft Office Suite
