Job Summary
Support the O&M Network Engineer in pre-installation, on-site deployment, and go-live testing by preparing and performing network surveys at client sites. Conduct hands-on implementation of network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and security appliances, while configuring devices via CLI and managing security across multi-enclave environments. Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues at all network layers, create network diagrams and cable drawings, and document all revisions for future improvements. Execute system configuration based on security policies and guidelines, with domestic and international travel expected. Requires active TS/SCI clearance, a bachelor's degree in engineering or IT, and 7+ years of progressive experience.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or a related discipline and 7+ years of progressive experience
- DoD Manual 8140 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification Certification for Intermediate level Network Operations Specialist DCWF Code 441
- Ability to identify cable colors, markings, or labels
- Must be detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), can communicate with all levels of the organization, and present complex and technical concepts to non-technical team members
- An ability to learn new technologies quickly
- An ability to develop and follow processes and standard operating procedures
- Deployment of network equipment and technology, with working knowledge of network devices and configuration
- Able to use device command line interfaces (CLI) and make configuration changes as needed
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with cloud provider environments such as AWS and Azure, with IL-2 or higher experience
- Working knowledge of WAN technology and deployment, and troubleshooting different communication circuit types
- Understanding of layer 1 technologies and their capabilities and limitations, including cable management, cable types, media converters, circuits to include CPE, Telco & Demark, etc
- Experience in creating network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings
- Installation experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and Security and Encryption appliances
- Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, MPLS, QoS)
- Domestic and international travel is expected
Desired Qualifications
- Juniper/HPE/JUNOS experience is a plus
