Job Summary
The Deployment Field Technician I is responsible for preparing, configuring, installing, and enabling POS systems and related technology for retail locations, from staging in the warehouse to on-site installation, training, and troubleshooting in the field. Responsibilities include staging and testing POS peripherals (terminals, pinpads, scanners, printers), configuring Windows-based systems, ensuring network connectivity, packing equipment for deployment, on-site hardware installation and cable routing, and post-deployment enablement with store staff. The role operates independently at client sites, acts as the primary technical contact during rollout, travels regionally for deployments, and requires a valid CA driver’s license. Preferred attributes include experience with low-voltage deployment, strong customer-facing skills, and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in deployment, field services, low-voltage installation, and/or IT infrastructure customer support.
- A valid California driver's license is required for this position.
- Strong communication skills and professional interaction with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision while managing multiple deployment tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, floor plans, and network schematics.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
