Job Summary
Execute proposal submission, contract negotiation, and award setup while managing financial compliance, audit, and reporting on behalf of engineering units. Review and approve programmatic transactions spanning the full project lifecycle to ensure adherence to institutional and sponsor policies. Develop and oversee implementation of operational policies covering financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance requirements. Serve as a key resource to leadership and staff, acting as a liaison to partners and stakeholders. This role supports the College of Engineering Research Services Team, which manages over 800 annual proposals resulting in approximately $140 million in awards.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in grant management/research administration at a university or research organization
- Experience in cloud-based grant administration or financial computer systems
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel, or Google Suite
- Associate's degree
- Eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience applying fiscal and administrative rules, regulations and procedures for administering sponsored projects
- Experience with Workday ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated track record of working collaboratively with multiple groups/stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to simultaneously execute multiple tasks while responding to multiple demands
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to solve problems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
