Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of a specific department to ensure sales and profitability goals are met. Train and develop associates in customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising while maintaining clean, safe standards. Monitor inventory levels, coordinate replenishment, and manage expenses to support budget preparation. Lead and motivate diverse teams to improve productivity, engagement, and retention through regular communication with store management. Communicate regularly with other department managers to align on store-wide objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop associates
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Candidates who are 18 years or older are required to complete a criminal background check
