Job Summary
Engineering Department Manager lead a multidisciplinary engineering team within a healthcare-focused architecture/engineering environment. Drive department direction, recruit and develop talent, oversee project execution from concept to completion, collaborate with architects, PMs, QC, and marketing, engage clients with proactive communication, provide technical oversight on drawings, specifications, and reports, enforce engineering standards with QA, mentor staff, optimize processes, and contribute to strategic growth and thought leadership. Responsibilities also include managing department workload, utilization, and staffing, representing the firm at industry events, and ensuring design solutions meet timelines and budgets.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in engineering
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- PE license required
- Experience leading, developing, and growing engineering teams
- Healthcare project experience preferred
- Experience with preparing contract documents (Drawings and Specs)
- Experience in leadership and management in an A/E firm or similar environment
- Experience delivering projects of varying scale and complexity
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices
- Experience with project management and accounting software (Ajera preferred)
- Experience with engineering design software, including Revit
Desired Qualifications
- PE license

- Healthcare project experience preferred
- Revit proficiency
- Ajera or similar project management software experience
