Job Summary
Lead a team of 20+ to maintain an engaged and safe work environment while performing duty manager responsibilities, including opening and closing the store across weekdays and weekends. Build team capability on Best Experience and Safety Culture & Compliance, including team engagement, performance management, and recognition. Drive department sales through strong merchandising and monitor key metrics, while owning stock accuracy, adjustments, replenishment discipline, and loss prevention processes. Monitor and measure customer service levels, liaise with Merchandising, Store Leadership, and Health and Safety teams, and develop relationships with suppliers. This role includes a minimum of 1 in 3 weekend roster and some public holiday work. You will report to your Operations Manager and Complex Manager, working closely with fellow Department Managers in Service, Inside the Home, Builders, and Lifestyles & Garden.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in leading teams in the retail industry or a large, high volume customer focused organisation
- Confident leader, experienced in opening and closing the store and supporting smooth trade across weekdays and weekends
- Champion a Safe & Secure environment by role‐modelling safety leadership and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- You must be age 15 or over to apply for a role at Bunnings
- This can include police, employment, medical and qualification checks
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in leading teams with a focus on Safety and Wellbeing and Specialist products is preferred
- Ability to develop teams and provide a healthy environment in which to work in
- You will be a highly driven individual with strong leadership and influencing skills
- You'll need to Lead and inspire a large team (20+) to deliver the Best Experience through strong engagement, coaching and teamwork
- Drive strong retail fundamentals, including merchandising excellence, sales performance, stock accuracy, availability and loss prevention
