Job Summary
Department Leave Specialist manages the full FMLA administration process from intake to return-to-work, including eligibility reviews, designation, medical certification as needed, and handling intermittent/reduced schedule leaves. Builds and enforces compliant processes for FMLA, STD/LTD, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation; reviews sensitive intake documentation for compliance; communicates with employees and supervisors about leave needs and required documentation; advises on interactions between leave programs; partners with HR, Payroll, Safety & Compliance, and disability program vendors to coordinate cases; utilizes leave management systems and HRIS tools to track cases, tasks, and communications; processes non-FMLA leaves; coordinates modified duties with leadership; produces reports and analytics related to leave programs; performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience (leave administration, HR, benefits, workers’ compensation, disability case management, or related fields)
- Equivalency: combination of education, experience, and training may be considered
