Job Summary
Diagnose, treat, and provide preventative dental care to incarcerated individuals, including performing extractions, restorations, and emergency oral surgery. Develop treatment plans, educate patients on oral hygiene, and maintain detailed dental records. Supervise dental assistants, ensure equipment sterilization, and collaborate with medical staff to meet patient needs. Evaluate patients returning from offsite visits and participate in staff training. This role requires a Florida-licensed DDS or DMD with BLS CPR certification and DEA registration. Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
- Valid dental license in Florida
- Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)
- Current DEA registration
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Technical skills in providing a full range of dental services
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
