Job Summary
Part-time Dentist opportunity at Somerset County Jail in Somerset, PA. Role focuses on providing on-site dental care to inmates/patients, supervising dental services, evaluating dental health programs, and collaborating with facility physicians. Key duties include performing routine drilling, filling and extraction; completing initial dental screenings within 7–14 days depending on facility; evaluating patients for additional care and making clinically appropriate recommendations; treating dental issues affecting nutrition; taking impressions for dental plates and ensuring follow-up care; documenting all services in the inmate/patient dental health record; instructing inmates/patients in dental hygiene; providing in-service training for health staff; completing dental exams on anniversary dates (1 year for jails, 30 days for prisons, 60 days for juvenile centers); and performing other duties as assigned. Requirements: Doctoral degree in dentistry, PA license to practice dentistry, current DEA license, BLS certification, and a valid driver’s license. Part-time schedule is 4.0 hours per week, Monday–Friday. For those interested in a full-time option, opportunities exist to cover multiple facilities with travel and company vehicle. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Dentistry
- Licensed to practice Dentistry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Maintain current DEA license
- Maintain active BLS (i.e. CPR) certification
- Maintain current Driver’s License
