Job Summary
Diagnose, treat, and provide preventative dental care to incarcerated patients while creating treatment plans for extractions and restorations. Educate patients on oral hygiene, maintain detailed dental records, and collaborate with medical professionals to ensure responsive care within a secure environment. Adhere to correctional healthcare policies, confidentiality standards, and legal requirements while interacting with diverse populations, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues. Requires a DDS, active dental license, BLS CPR certification, and DEA registration. Full-time role in San Luis, Arizona with pay ranging from $81.00 to $90.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent
- Valid dental license in the state where the facility is located
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- Current DEA registration
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
- Must have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
- Must have the ability to maintain good balance and endurance throughout a shift
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in clinical dentistry and correctional settings preferred
