Job Summary
Diagnose, treat, and provide preventative dental care to incarcerated patients by creating treatment plans and performing procedures such as extractions and restorations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices while maintaining accurate dental records and collaborating with medical professionals to ensure responsive care. Work within a controlled security environment in the Bibb Correctional Facility, adhering to correctional healthcare policies, laws, and confidentiality requirements. Possess a valid dental license, DEA registration, and active BLS CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent
- Valid dental license in the state where the facility is located
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification
- Current DEA registration
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
- Must have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
- Must have the ability to maintain good balance and endurance throughout a shift
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Must be able to display integrity, professionalism and adhere to a Code of Conduct
- Must be able to comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in clinical dentistry and correctional settings preferred
- AHA preferred
