Job Summary
Diagnose, treat, and provide preventative dental care to incarcerated patients in a controlled correctional environment. Create treatment plans for procedures including extractions and restorations while educating patients on oral hygiene. Maintain accurate dental records and collaborate with medical professionals to ensure responsive care. Adhere to correctional healthcare policies, legal requirements, and confidentiality standards while interacting with diverse populations. Requires a DDS, active license, BLS/CPR certification, and DEA registration. Pay ranges from $81.00 to $90.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent
- Valid dental license in the state where the facility is located
- Active BLS CPR Certification
- Current DEA registration
- Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements

- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in clinical dentistry and correctional settings
- AHA preferred BLS CPR Certification
