Job Summary
Diagnose, treat, and provide preventative dental care to incarcerated individuals while creating treatment plans for extractions and restorations. Educate patients on oral hygiene, maintain detailed dental records, and collaborate with medical professionals to ensure responsive care within a secure environment. This part-time role at the Bullock Correctional Facility requires a DDS, active BLS CPR certification, and DEA registration, with physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods. Applicants must pass a criminal background check and drug screening, and demonstrate integrity in adhering to correctional healthcare policies.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent
- Valid dental license in the state where the facility is located
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification
- Current DEA registration
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
- Must have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
- Must have the ability to maintain good balance and endurance throughout a shift
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check
- Must pass drug screening
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Must display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct
- Must be able to comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in clinical dentistry and correctional settings preferred
- AHA preferred
