Job Summary
Welcome new patients during consultations, build rapport, and educate them on treatment plans while assisting oral surgeons and prosthodontists with full-arch implant surgeries, extractions, bone grafting, and sedation procedures. Prepare treatment rooms, maintain sterilization standards, and set up surgical procedures efficiently. Take digital radiographs, CBCT scans, intraoral scans, and impressions; review treatment plans; obtain informed consent; and document clinical procedures with thorough, legally compliant records. Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment, deliver clear instructions, and provide compassionate follow-up care. Maintain inventory, stock surgical supplies, and collaborate with the team to ensure seamless patient experiences.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program
- Current California Dental X-Ray Certification
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Proficiency in four-handed dentistry
- Strong understanding of OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, sterilization, and disinfection protocols
- Experience taking digital radiographs and dental impressions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to accurately complete clinical documentation and patient records
Desired Qualifications
- Oral surgery assisting experience
- Experience assisting with IV sedation and/or general anesthesia
- Experience with CBCT imaging and digital scanning technology
- Open Dental experience
