Job Summary
Maintain and operate sterilization equipment while ensuring all dental instruments are properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized. Execute proper infection control measures following OSHA guidelines and CDC practices, including performing daily and weekly tests to verify sterility. Prepare clinical items and set ups throughout the day, assist the team with operatory cleaning between appointments, and deliver tools to specified locations. Monitor instruments during sterilization procedures, maintain sterilizer logs and maintenance schedules, and check inventory to relay supply information to the clinical lead. Perform routine maintenance checks on sterilization equipment and ensure supplies are not outdated before use.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to hear above noise level of operating equipment (sterilizers)
- Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral visions (must be able to detect defects in instruments)
- Standing up to 4 hours per day; 2 hours at a time
- Walking up to 4 hours per day, 2 hours at a time
- Sitting up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time
- Frequent use of fingers and hands for data entry, assembling instrument trays and packaging items
- Frequent walking, lifting, carrying, pushing of objects weighing up to 100lbs. with assistance
- Frequent squatting, kneeling, occasional stooping/bending, crouching, and reaching above shoulder level
