Job Summary
Scheduling Coordinator will monitor, track and maintain clinic schedules, perform appointment blocking, develop templates, apply schedules, modify templates and/or schedules as needed, and prepare regular status reports related to provider calendars. Will interact with providers, site supervisors, staff, and the Chief Dental Officer to ensure accurate, confidential scheduling data; maintain schedules for providers, hygienists, dental assistants, and health education staff; conduct audits, track time-off requests, produce and maintain logs and reports, and ensure adherence to scheduling policies while supporting HIPAA compliance and QA/QI activities. Requires excellent Microsoft Office skills, strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate across multiple departments; bilingual English/Spanish preferred; 55 WPM typing; experience with NextGen/EDR/EPM systems and related scheduling tools is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Associates degree preferred or required to replace two years of experience
- 3-5 years administrative experience in a similar setting
- Typing 55 WPM
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Office suite, Email, Internet)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements
- Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail
- Experience with provider/dental scheduling processes and calendars
- Experience with EHR/EDR/EPM systems (NextGen, Schedule Anywhere) preferred
