Job Summary
Dental Receptionist is responsible for patient registration, completion of subsidized health insurance applications, insurance verification, assessing patient eligibility for state and federal health insurance entitlements, educating patients about entitlements/programs, data entry and clerical duties. Responsible for managing schedules by confirming appointment slots, tracking no-shows, filling open slots, coordinating emergency visits, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, maintaining cash transaction records, processing receipts, and forwarding to accounting. Handles patient visits, verifies identity/insurance, completes necessary forms, greets patients, answers questions, and handles calls courteously. Manages encounter forms and provides monthly summaries; tracks lab cases and patient waiting list activity. Strong computer skills (MS Word, general data entry) and 1-2 years of customer service/communication experience.
