Job Summary
Under the Dental Department Manager, prepare patients administratively for dental visits by checking them into the practice management system, updating health histories, and scanning documents into MediaDent. Verify insurance coverage and benefits to ensure timely reimbursement, address emergency walk-ins following triage protocols, and set up new accounts with demographic and financial data. Manage daily cash drawers, reconcile collections, and promote excellence in customer service while maintaining accuracy under continuous patient flow.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of health care related experience in a business or insurance office
- Medical terminology
- Accurate keyboarding skills
- Ability to process work error free
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, photocopiers, and facsimile machines
- Ability to learn, understand, and use Internet insurance eligibility systems
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent telephone etiquette
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to speak English fluently
