Job Summary
Manage daily administrative and clinical operations, optimizing patient scheduling, maintaining digital records, and overseeing supply inventory within established budgets. Lead administrative and clinical teams by setting clear expectations, conducting performance evaluations, creating schedules, and resolving workplace conflicts. Oversee patient billing, insurance claims, and accounts receivable while tracking key performance indicators and monitoring the office budget. Enforce office policies, ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance, and coordinate marketing activities to support patient retention. Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend solutions to the practice owner, handling complex patient concerns and vendor coordination independently.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of management experience in a dental or medical office environment
- experience directly supervising employees and managing performance
- Understand dental office workflows, terminology, ADA coding, insurance verification, billing, and claims processes
- experience with dental practice management software such as Dentrix Ascend
- proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
- strong math, accounting, organizational, and analytical skills
- Communicate confidently and professionally with employees, patients, vendors, and the practice owner
- Can manage multiple priorities without losing sight of important details
- Are comfortable addressing difficult employee or patient situations rather than avoiding them
- Can recognize what needs attention and act without waiting to be asked
- Have a high school diploma or GED
Desired Qualifications
- an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field is strongly preferred
