Job Summary
Verify patient dental insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to appointments by reviewing plan details including deductibles, maximums, waiting periods, frequencies, and limitations. Confirm coverage for preventive, basic, and major services while communicating benefits clearly to patients and internal staff. Coordinate with dental offices and insurance companies via phone, portals, and email to identify and resolve discrepancies proactively. Ensure accurate entry of insurance information into practice management systems and assist with pre-authorizations. Maintain compliance with HIPAA and data privacy standards while supporting billing and front office teams with insurance-related inquiries. This remote role requires 1–2 years of experience in dental insurance verification or billing and familiarity with CDT codes and practice management software.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1–2 years of experience in dental insurance verification or dental billing
- Strong understanding of dental insurance plans (PPO, HMO, indemnity)
- Familiarity with CDT codes and common dental procedures
- Experience using dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, CareStack)
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a remote environment
