Job Summary
Conduct dental prophylaxis, periodontal services, and preventive oral health care for the inmate population at FCI Bastrop. Deliver individualized oral hygiene instructions, monitor patient conditions, and complete necessary dental x-rays. Administer local anesthetic, sterilize instruments, and oversee infection control procedures. Perform suture removal and other clinical services as trained. Manage patient scheduling, track care delivery, and enter data into the agency's electronic system while maintaining medical record confidentiality. Work 8 hours daily, 5 days per week, from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
Required Qualifications
- Dental Hygienist license from the State of Texas and/or board certification
- Dental radiology certification
- Must have knowledge and experience in maintaining medical records and confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience is preferred yet not required
- Anesthesia certification preferred, not required
