Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene care for patients, including recare appointments and new patient screenings, within 70- to 90-minute uninterrupted blocks. Deliver preventative maintenance and educate patients on dental health while utilizing advanced tools like Velscope, digital scanners, and electronic medical record systems. Maintain accurate medical history documentation and adhere to clinical protocols for patient screening. Work Monday through Thursday with a 60-minute daily lunch break, avoiding evenings, weekends, and double bookings. Maintain a current New York dental hygienist license, CPR certification, and TB test results. Join a four-person team supported by a dedicated practice manager and extensive mentorship resources.
Required Qualifications
- Current dental hygienist license in New York
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
- CPR Certification
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
- Tuberculosis (TB) test

- Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
- Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
