Job Summary
Dental Hygienist needed for VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System across multiple Southern California sites. Responsibilities include performing dental assessments and cleanings (scaling/root planing), taking and interpreting radiographs (bitewing, periapical, panoramic), providing patient education on oral hygiene, disease prevention, and tobacco cessation, assisting in pre/post-operative periodontal care, maintaining dental equipment and operatory per OSHA/infection control standards, and managing recall/follow-up for high-risk patients. Use CPRS and DRM Plus for charting and documentation. Qualifications include an Associate Degree or higher from an ADA-accredited dental hygiene program, active California Dental Hygiene License, certification in radiologic procedures (42 CFR Part 75 standards), minimum 1 year of experience, and current BLS/CPR certification with a valid TB test.
