Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene procedures, patient screenings, and medical history documentation for assigned patients during Monday–Thursday shifts from 7:15 AM to 4:45 PM. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and utilize diagnostic tools such as Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, and x-rays to support preventative care and overall dental health maintenance. Adhere to clinical needs as required by the office, including prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and be prepared to lift up to 45 pounds. Complete required TB testing prior to employment start.
Required Qualifications
- Current dental hygienist license in TN
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
- CPR Certification
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
- Tuberculosis (TB) test
Desired Qualifications
- 2 or more years of clinical experience
- Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
- Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
