Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene procedures, including patient screening, medical history documentation, and preventative care maintenance. Utilize diagnostic tools such as Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, and x-rays while managing electronic medical records. Perform essential duties requiring prolonged periods of sitting and standing, with occasional lifting up to 45 pounds. Maintain a schedule covering Tuesdays through Fridays with specific morning and afternoon hours. Complete required tuberculosis testing prior to employment start. Join a growing practice within Heartland Dental's network of supported offices dedicated to delivering high-quality community dental care.
Required Qualifications
- Current dental hygienist license in NC
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
- CPR Certification
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
- Tuberculosis (TB) test
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of clinical experience
- Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
- Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
