Job Summary
Deliver comprehensive preventative care and maintenance to patients through clinical procedures, screenings, and medical history documentation. Manage dental hygiene duties including the use of diagnostic tools like Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, and x-rays while maintaining accurate records in electronic medical systems. Provide patient education on oral health and adhere to clinical needs as required by the office. Complete mandatory pre-employment TB testing and attend periodic virtual or in-person training sessions. Maintain physical readiness for prolonged periods of sitting and standing, with the ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Current dental hygienist license in NC
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry
- Excellent working knowledge of dental hygiene procedures
- Excellent working knowledge of dental patient screening
- Excellent working knowledge of medical history documentation
- CPR Certification
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
- Tuberculosis (TB) test
