Job Summary
Conduct preventive and therapeutic dental services, including prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and fluoride application, while charting patient history and treatment plans. Maintain dental records, complete billing information, and manage supply inventory. Assist with policy development, implement quality improvement plans, and maintain infection control measures. Seat and dismiss patients, schedule appointments with front desk staff, and provide patient instruction as delegated by the dentist. Adhere to organizational policies, attend team meetings, and participate in performance improvement activities. Maintain current CPR licensure and demonstrate flexibility to work outside normal business hours when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Licensed to practice dental hygiene in Pennsylvania
- CPR Certified
- Attendance required at assigned CHDC site(s)
- Must generally be present during operating hours at assigned CHDC site(s)
- Must be available outside the health center's normal business hours when necessary
- Complies with accepted dress code and maintains a professional image
- Demonstrates reliability and trustworthiness
- Manages time and other resources to meet established goals within the agreed upon time frames
- Demonstrates flexibility in the acceptance and completion of work assignments
- Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information
- Observes the Health Care System's compliance policies
- Highly organized
- Computer proficient in office management software
- Strong interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- PHDHP preferred, but not required
- At least one-year dental hygiene experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work with a diverse population and sensitivity to low-income populations
- Bilingual/bicultural preferred
