Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene procedures and patient screenings for a Friday-only shift from 8 am to 1 pm. Perform preventative care, overall maintenance of patients' dental health, and complete medical history documentation while utilizing digital x-rays, electronic medical record systems, and diagnostic tools like Velscope and Diagnodent. Maintain patient safety by completing a required tuberculosis test prior to employment and adhere to physical requirements including prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and lifting up to 45 pounds. Join an 11-person team within a supported professional corporation where doctors retain full clinical autonomy.
Required Qualifications
- Current dental hygienist license in Louisiana
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
- CPR Certification
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
- Tuberculosis (TB) test
Desired Qualifications
- 1 years of clinical experience
- Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
- Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
