Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
Conduct daily dental hygiene procedures, including patient screening, medical history documentation, and preventative care maintenance. Utilize diagnostic tools such as Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, and x-rays while managing electronic medical records. Provide patient education on oral health and collaborate within a compassionate, team-oriented environment. Schedule includes Monday through Thursday from 8-5, with every other Wednesday at 8-1. Requires a current South Carolina dental hygienist license, CPR certification, and ability to lift 45 pounds. New graduates are welcome to join with mentorship support available.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Dental Hygienist with SC credentials
- Current dental hygienist license in South Carolina
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
- CPR Certification
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
- Tuberculosis (TB) test
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
- Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
