Job Summary
Perform dental prophylaxis, remove tartar and plaque, apply fluoride, and take x-rays while assessing oral health and monitoring periodontal conditions. Assist the dentist with procedures, instruments, and documentation; sterilize equipment and support the dental department's function. Conduct facial and oral cancer screenings, provide oral hygiene instructions, and manage patient records using TechCareTM applications. Coordinate triage, sick calls, and appointments while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to correctional healthcare policies. This role offers hourly pay ranging from $40.00 to $48.00 in Safford, AZ, with on-the-job training for new grads. Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program
- Valid dental hygiene license in state
- Dental radiology certification
- Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
- Strong oral hygiene knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a correctional environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods
- Must have the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift
