Job Summary
Provide patient care and support in an enthusiastic way, building personal connections at every visit. Collect dental and medical history, prepare patients for the orthodontist, and take X-rays while following safety procedures. Examine gums for infections, clean teeth to remove plaque, polish, floss, and brush, then bond or remove brackets and place or remove arch wires. Educate patients on oral hygiene habits and treatment progress, update records, perform lab duties, and maintain instruments and supplies. Call patients for aftercare and answer questions, traveling to satellite locations if necessary. Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with the team. Requires a Dental Hygiene Diploma or degree, current CPR and First Aid training, and 2+ years of experience preferred. Competitive hourly wage plus quarterly bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program
- Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province, in good standing
- Current CPR and First Aid training
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist
- Experience in an orthodontic office
