Job Summary
Provide oral hygiene services including thorough prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polish restorations, and application of cavity preventative agents such as fluorides and sealants. Accurately chart patient dental history, update periodontal health records, and handle patient records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Administer local anesthetics as allowed by the dental practice act and assist the dentist with directed tasks. Partner with the dental team to build a robust recall program and offer counseling on nutrition and oral hygiene techniques. You work with front office staff to control your schedule and maximize time with each patient.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or certificate in hygiene from an accredited program
- A valid state license
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Ability to manage time efficiently
- Excellent verbal skills to communicate professionally with patients and staff
