Job Summary
Deliver comprehensive preventative dental care and patient education while managing clinical needs as required by the office. Perform dental hygiene procedures, patient screening, and medical history documentation using tools such as Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, and electronic medical record systems. Maintain patient dental health through ongoing maintenance and utilize clinical skills to meet specific office requirements. Complete mandatory TB testing prior to employment and attend virtual or in-person training sessions periodically. Requires a current Michigan dental hygienist license, associate's or bachelor's degree, and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current dental hygienist license in Michigan
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
- CPR Certification
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
- Tuberculosis (TB) test

- Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
