Job Summary
Provide hygiene treatment to patients by performing scaling, root planning, selective polishing, and restorative polishing. Review daily schedules with the patient care coordinator, gather and review patient charts, and update health and dental history forms as necessary. Take radiographs as prescribed, apply cavity-preventative agents like fluorides and sealants, and teach proper oral hygiene techniques. Counsel patients on oral health and nutrition while maintaining treatment room cleanliness and sterilization per OSHA regulations. Maintain supply inventory and accurately record provided treatments. Requires state licensure, two years of post-secondary education, and experience with prophylaxis and X-rays. Full-time position with $48.00 - $55.00 hourly compensation.
Required Qualifications
- State licensure to practice Dental Hygiene, and meet all applicable state requirements
- Must have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Experience with Dental Assistance specific to Periodontics
- Experience providing prophylaxis and taking X-rays
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists and coworkers
- Strong computer skills (List of specific dental software(s) previously worked with)
- Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff
- Leading with compassion and a commitment to the full patient care experience
Desired Qualifications
- Open Dental knowledge is a plus!
