Job Summary
Conduct oral examinations, periodontal probing, scaling, and root planning while providing oral health instruction and dietary analysis. Perform routine blood pressure screenings, maintain medical history updates, and assist in inventory management for dental health promotion items. Participate in health fairs or classroom education as required. Travel to all COMC locations with a valid Missouri driver's license, including overnight trips for training or conferences. Maintain HIPAA and 340B compliance while managing moderate physical effort and customer inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed to practice dental hygiene in Missouri
- Must be CPR certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC
- Must have GED or be a graduate from high school and an approved school of Dental Hygiene
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
- Ability to effectively present information to the supporting Dentist
- Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Excellent customer service skills
- Moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight
- Valid Missouri driver's license
- Availability of a motor vehicle
- Knowledge of, and compliance with, HIPAA and 340B regulations
- Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory
- Must be available for travel to all COMC locations
- Overnight travel availability in specific incidences of training, conferences, etc.
