Job Summary
Assess periodontal health and obtain baseline oral hygiene data for clinic patients. Provide clinical services including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, sealant, and fluoride application while maintaining treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments. Record all interactions in dental records, take x-rays under supervision, and monitor vital signs. Deliver oral health education and counseling, assist with examinations and emergencies, and facilitate patient flow. Obtain medical histories and integrate care with other health professionals. Ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of dental hygiene
- Unrestricted license to practice Oral Hygiene in the State of Indiana
- Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks
Desired Qualifications
- One or more years of experience as a dental hygienist, especially in a FQHC setting
