Job Summary
Dental Hygienist (RDH) sought to join Virginia Family Dentistry in Atlee/Richmond area. Responsibilities include reviewing schedules, preparing operatory, seating patients, updating medical histories, performing oral cancer screenings, taking X-rays, administering fluoride, providing prophylaxis and periodontal care (scaling/root planing, probing depths, charting), educating patients on oral health, communicating treatment plans, scheduling hygiene appointments, and recording clinical notes in Dentrix. Requires BLS, proficiency with hand instrumentation and ultrasonic devices, and ability to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia (licensure supported by practice). Required Qualifications
- Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in Virginia
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- High degree of skill with hand instrumentation and ultrasonic inserts
- Experience in digital radiographs and Dentrix Enterprise electronic patient records preferred
- Scaling and root planing
- Certified to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia (Virginia Family Dentistry will compensate for certification)
