Job Summary
Conduct dental prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planning, and cavity-preventing treatments while charting decay, disease, and oral cancer screenings. Prepare treatment rooms, welcome patients, and administer fluoride or plaque control instructions. Maintain instruments, manage equipment inventories, and ensure strict adherence to infection-control policies and the dental practice act. Document services by recording vital signs and medical histories, and assist the dentist in managing emergencies. Work full-time in a Salem clinic serving Medicaid members, with pay ranging from $48.96 to $61.20 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A Registered Dental Hygienist
- active Oregon License
- American Dental Hygienist Association (ADHA) membership preferred
- Follows ADHA Professional Code of Ethics
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- dental software experience helpful
- BLS for Healthcare Providers
- Participate effectively as a team player
- Excellent reading, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally, patiently and courteously
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to come to work on time and on a daily basis
