Job Summary
Dental Hygiene full-time faculty member responsible for didactic and clinical instruction, coordinating clinical activities, mentoring and evaluating students to ensure entry-level competency. Teach in areas including head and neck anatomy, general/oral pathology, radiology, dental materials, pharmacology, periodontology, pre-clinic/clinic lectures, biochemistry and nutrition. Maintain records, post grades, participate in departmental meetings, serve as Academic Advisor, and support assessment initiatives and curriculum development. Expectation to meet five to ten office hours weekly, and to participate in committee work and annual commencement activities. Requires a Dental Hygiene degree, Texas license or eligibility, CPR, local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide certifications, plus 3–5 years of teaching experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene or related field
- Dental Hygiene License – State of Texas or ability to obtain a Texas License
- Current CPR Certification
- Administration of Local Anesthesia Certification
- Nitrous Oxide Certification
- 3 to 5 years of teaching experience
