Job Summary

Greet and escort pediatric patients to operatories, capturing necessary radiographs and reviewing medical histories to ensure safe, informed care. Prepare treatment chairs and rooms with specific instruments and trays for procedures like cleanings, sealants, and fluoride applications. Work chairside alongside hygienists to pass instruments and maintain a clean working field during scaling and prophylaxis. Sterilize instruments and turn over patient rooms between appointments in compliance with infection control protocols. Update patient records and clinical chart notes accurately while assisting with appointment scheduling and administrative tasks. This role requires hands-on experience with children, including those with special needs, and the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Hands-on experience working with children across a range of ages and abilities, including patients with special needs
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine ability to connect with kids and their caregivers
  • Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to stay focused and accurate under pressure
  • Team-first mindset — reliable, collaborative, and easy to work with
  • Fine motor dexterity and strong hand/eye coordination
  • Lifting and carrying dental instrument trays (up to 5 lbs) routinely
  • Assisting with patient transfers of up to 10 lbs independently, or as part of a two-person lift for patients over 11 lbs
  • Routine handling of dental materials and chemicals used in operatory or laboratory settings, which may include latex, acrylic, glutaraldehyde, and similar agents
  • Ability to sit or stand for short, intermittent, and/or extended periods throughout the workday

Desired Qualifications

  • 2-year Associate's degree in a related field
  • Prior dental office, dental assisting, or dental hygiene experience
  • Familiarity with dental terminology and dental practice management software
  • Dental Radiology Certification (NY State)
