Job Summary
Greet patients, manage inbound and outbound calls, and schedule, confirm, and reschedule dental appointments while maintaining accurate records. Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain detailed benefit breakdowns including deductibles and coverage limits, and communicate financial responsibility clearly to patients. Conduct follow-up calls regarding upcoming appointments, treatment plans, and implant-related consultations, documenting all patient communications accurately. Check patients in and out, assist with payment collection, and work closely with the dental team to ensure treatment and insurance information is correct before procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of dental insurance verification and benefit breakdowns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable handling a high volume of inbound and outbound calls
- Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to discuss dental treatment, including implant-related services, professionally and confidently
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
- Comfortable learning and using dental practice management software
- Professional, positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- Friendly, confident, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Ability to communicate clearly, follow up consistently, and accurately document insurance information
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental front office, dental reception, or dental patient coordinator role preferred
- Experience verifying PPO dental insurance benefits
- Experience with implant consultations and implant treatment coordination
- Experience obtaining detailed insurance breakdowns and estimating patient portions
- Experience with dental scheduling and treatment-plan follow-up
- Familiarity with dental terminology, CDT codes, and insurance terminology
- Experience using dental practice management systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar software
- Experience communicating with dental insurance companies is highly preferred
