Job Summary

Lead the dental clinical care delivery at Family Health Center by developing your own clinical practice within FHC sites and collaborating with the Chief Medical Officer to establish targets for clinical capacity, utilization, and financial success. Provide clinical mentoring and support to dentists, hygienists, and ancillary staff on complex cases while assisting in developing dental grand rounds for ongoing education. Optimize purchasing power and quality for dental equipment and laboratory services, and represent the organization at public-facing activities to support its brand and credibility. Participate in state and national forums to influence dental policy and practice, ensuring standards of care are met through peer review and evidence-based strategies within an interdisciplinary team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD degree from accredited dental school
  • Active State of Michigan Dental license
  • DEA (Federal and State) Active Licensure
  • Minimum of five years of dentistry experience
  • Demonstrated management and leadership expertise
  • Commitment to caring for diverse patients
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED (CPR/FPR/AED) certification or BLS/AED for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Able to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Able to read and interpret financial reports to be able to effectively assist the leadership team in managing the profitability of the organization
  • Able to research data and solve practical problems
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of using the internet
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of utilizing Excel spreadsheet software
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Word software
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of utilizing Outlook software to manage schedules and communicate through the use of email to various recipients
  • Able to guide the organization in development of technology to remain competitive in the healthcare industry
  • Comprehends the mission of the organization which serves the medically under privileged
  • Must have adequate transportation to visit various sites of the organization
  • Must have demonstrated success in the management of operational services of a healthcare facility
  • Must be able to represent the organization within the community and engage the community
  • Must have proven success in working with tertiary hospitals
