Job Summary
Review and approve daily dental charges, retrieve and reconcile data from Dentrix and Athena systems, and verify insurance eligibility. Submit claims to commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Oregon, and Washington payers while resolving denials, rejections, and zero-pay issues. Set up patient profiles, process EOBs, create payment batches, and monitor accounts receivable to follow up on outstanding balances. Communicate regularly with providers, clinic staff, and carriers to support revenue cycle projects.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-year dental office billing experience, including experience coding dental procedures, encounters, and visits
- Experience with OHP, Medicare and managed healthcare
- Experience with MS Office
- Experience with practice management software
- Knowledge of dental and medical terminology
- Skilled in basic math and knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Demonstrated ability to complete documentation in accordance with governmental regulations and laws, and NARA NW policies, procedures, guidelines and best practices
- Must pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests
- Must pass criminal background check
- Preference in hiring is given to qualified Native Americans in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, US Code, Sections 472 and 473)
