Job Summary
Conduct chair-side assistance for dentists and hygienists, preparing operatories, developing radiographs, and performing delegated procedures per state regulations and ZHC protocols. Maintain sterilization, inventory control, and equipment compliance with AAMI and Joint Commission standards while managing patient flow and intake. Provide coverage for auxiliary staff, teach new personnel, and ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials in full adherence to infection control and bloodborne pathogens plans. Requires fluency in English and Spanish, a valid NJ Radiology license, and current CPR (BLS).
Required Qualifications
- comprehensive knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures for all phases of general dentistry
- Knowledge of modern dental materials, their storage, handling, and applications
- Ability to attend to multiple tasks at the same time and prioritize assignments and responsibilities to ensure compliance with established deadlines and protocols
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English
- Effective oral communication skills in Spanish
- The ability to work with people from diverse social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds
- Current CPR (BLS)
- Valid Radiology license in NJ
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, typing, and use of electronic medical records
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Learn and apply the trauma informed care principles with the scope of the position
