Job Summary

Assist hygienists with patient flow, scheduling, and room preparation while taking diagnostic digital radiographs and recording medical histories. Provide chairside support during restorative, crown and bridge, and extraction procedures by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and preparing dental materials. Maintain sterilization protocols, perform spore testing, manage laboratory cases, and complete regulatory documentation. Participate in morning huddles, assist with emergencies, and ensure HIPAA compliance. Work Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday until 3:30 PM. Requires a Massachusetts Licensed Dental Assistant with DANB certification or formal program graduation; OTJ training disqualifies candidates.

Required Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Licensed Dental Assistant
  • DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential
  • Graduation from a formal Dental Assisting program
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Current Dental Radiology (X-ray) Certification
  • Not on-the-job (OTJ) trained
  • Current Massachusetts Registered Dental Assistant status
  • Ability to stand for approximately 80% of the workday
  • Ability to sit for approximately 20% of the workday
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, and change positions
  • Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds
  • Demonstrated excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity
  • Ability to work comfortably in a medical, dental, and laboratory environment
  • Ability to maintain close visual focus for detailed clinical procedures
  • Ability to work around moderate equipment noise, dental materials, and occasional trace amounts of nitrous oxide
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor while working around blood and other clinical conditions common in dentistry

  • Ability to follow OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and office safety protocols consistently
